R Dorothy Wayneright

    R Dorothy Wayneright is the Android sidekick (and often plot device) of Roger Smith in The Big O. Expressionless, but with an exceptionally dry wit and nearly imperceptible taste for sarcasm, Dorothy is a very “human” android along the same lines as Star Trek’s Data. Originally rescued by Roger the Negotiator, she ends up working for him as a maid/assistant to Norman (who, let’s face it, is basically Alfred to Roger’s Batman). Despite Dorothy’s supposed lack of a soul or emotions, the two quickly develop a love-hate relationship, and the much of the series revolves around this and Dorothy’s mysterious past. Halloween 2012: Rapunzel and Flynn from Disney’s Tangled

In August, my mom offered to take myself, my husband, and my sister along with her to Disney World (she had a conference there) in October. We decided we’d go to the Halloween party, so OF COURSE I had to make costumes for everybody. Brian’s Flynn Rider costume is probably one of my very favorite pieces, I put over 200 hours into it. The vest is made up of about 117 strips of interfacing-backed flannel, which I basically quilted together. I made the vest, the shirt, and even the little pouch from scratch! The rest of the items were found/bought. My Rapunzel costume was fun too, especially as I made the skirt with no pattern and combined two patterns for Get the whole scoop…
